A self led AR trail with Fish Annie
This immersive and interactive project blends storytelling, local history, and creative installations to engage a broad audience, fostering a sense of pride and connection within the community. The trail gives families the opportunity to explore significant sites around Hartlepool while learning about their historical importance through artistic interpretations and narratives.
Find 10 of Fish Annies lost fish. Each catch will reward you with some local facts and a unique y designed fish, all created by local primary school children.
Rime of The Submerged Forest

PROJECT DETAILS
To create a new folk tale for Hartlepool. Using the ancient submerged forest surrounding the local coast as the source material, a story was created to highlight the importance of keeping our beaches clean. Young people worked in collaboration with local artists to design the characters in the story who were then brought to life by performers as a walkabout act.

Visual artists, sculptors, puppet designers, costume designers, special effects make up artists, musicians and performers.
The SeAvengers
Commissioned and funded by: Middlesbrough Museums (Middlesbrough Council)
Inspired by an exhibit; Bottled Ocean by George Nuku. A immersive drama workshop held in the exhibition space, follwed by 6 weeks at school working alongside professional artosts and learning to create comic books with Ocean saving superheroes as central characters.

For International Women'sDay. A retelling of the story of Susannnah and The Elders (sculptures on permanent display). On site workshops that included storytelling sessions andcollecting resposes form attendees relating to unwanted attention and catcalling they had experienced or witnessed.
The Pirate Cats of Pilot Pier

Brief: To create a storytelling walkabout performance with collecting oral histories from local people.
A walkabout act based on oral histories of those living in the fishing community in Hartlepool. - The cats told stories of their life as a pilot based at Pilot Pier on Hartlepool Headland
Songs of Her Reign
Produced for Let's Create - Jubilee and funded by Hartlepool Borough Council.
A community-led, multi-artform participatory creative project culminating in a shared outdoor exhibition at the Borough’s official celebration event for the Jubilee, diving into music from each decade of the Queen’s reign, across multiple groups within the VCS across Hartlepool.
Eight creatives from Hartlepool and the Tees Valley, across eight different miniature strands of work, coming together for a multi-generational showcase at the official HBC celebration event.
Each community group was matched with a local artist, who collaborated to produce a large scale art work that was exhibited at Hartlepool waterfront and Wintertide Festival. The art works ranged form textile, film, mural, paper craft and yarn craft.
Hartlepool Welcomes - Fish Annie
Collaboration with Gobbledegook Theatre and BloomInArt for Hartlepool Tall Ships 2023
Brief: To collaborate with Gobbledegook Theatre to bring characters from Hartlepool History to life. Working with members of the community to make unique souvenirs which would form part of the character props and add to the interactions at the event.
Workshops to create souvenir fish and walkabout characters 3 characters remain with Jack of Hearts as a legacy of the project
Queen Bee and the Story Hive
Commisioned by Telling the Bees for Hartlepool Folk Festival
Brief: To create character(s) to launch and promote the Telling the Bees project and workshops for schools with Bee theme crafts and information. Queen Bee and her Keeper would love you to tell her your stories and her keeper will keep them all safe in the magical story hive where they will magically be woven into the story by the writer bees buzzing away inside.
While crafting paper flowers and bees that will become part of the hive she will help children create fantastical worlds and wonderful characters in a safe and fun space, encouraging children to add (pictures or phrases) to the story hive.
Spooky Beaches
To offer activities during October half term for families to access free Spooky seaside funday (in collaboration with Seascapes and Wintertide) To hold a day of fun activities led by artists in the gardens and then a party for families,
